AT YOUR FIRST APPOINTMENT
We will discuss your health concerns and take your medical history. Please bring details on any medications you are taking and scan results if you have them.
You may be asked to undress in order for the Osteopath to correctly assess your posture and injury. It is recommended to wear loose fitting clothing e.g. t-shirt/vest, loose trousers or shorts/leggings. The Osteopath will perform some orthopaedic tests to diagnose your problem and if necessary, may refer you for further investigations (MRI or Ultrasound scans).
Once a diagnosis has been reached, your Osteopath will discuss a treatment plan with you and suggest the approximate number of sessions that will be suitable. You will be offered treatment as part of the consultation and may be given some exercises. Your Osteopath may also advise on lifestyle and dietary adjustments to aid in the healing process.
In the event that osteopathy is unsuitable for your problem you will be referred to the correct healthcare modality.
